The Congressional District Health Dashboard is excited to announce its summer update! This release furthers our mission to provide actionable, reliable, and nonpartisan congressional district health data to policymakers and users from diverse sectors. The release includes:
Updated data for the Medicaid Enrollment and SNAP Participation Metrics
A new hex map feature
Metric Updates
In this website update, the Dashboard added the latest Medicaid Enrollment and SNAP Participation data for congressional districts, using finalized data available from federal data sources. This summer’s data update arrives at a critical time, allowing users to track the recent impacts of changes to Medicaid and SNAP policy as they continue to be rolled out nationwide.
What can you do with the data?
Compare your district’s estimate with the national average or state values by changing the Scale Bar’s Comparison Value.
Compare how your district’s estimate has changed across quarters by changing the Metric Time Period.
Both Medicaid Enrollment and SNAP Participation metrics now provide quarterly estimates through 2025 Q4.
Compare your district estimates with other measures of health and its drivers on the Dashboard to connect the dots on district-level challenges.

New Feature: Hex Maps and Data Tables
Congressional districts are drawn to split the population evenly, in part, to include (roughly) similar numbers of people. Districts in big cities with very high concentrations of people, like New York City or Los Angeles, are geographically small and virtually invisible on the national congressional district map. To help users get a better sense of the national variation for a given metric, the Dashboard has added another option for how to view congressional districts: hex maps. Hex maps show each unit – each congressional district – as being the same size.
This new mapping option provides insight into health and measures of health nationwide, while also providing another perspective for understanding regional variations in health and its drivers. Learn more about hex maps and this new feature here.
Additionally, a new Table view on the Metric Maps page has been added, which provides a table of all the congressional districts and their estimates. This table allows you to quickly see metric estimates for multiple congressional districts simultaneously. The table also provides census tract-level data in the single-district view, and in the state map view, lists all of the state's congressional districts. You can pull the data that you want directly from the table.
