Disseminating Dashboard Data to 435 Congressional Offices
Most data on health and drivers of health and wellbeing are organized at the county, state, and national level. For representatives in Congress, this means it’s often difficult to find rigorous and unbiased data specific to the population of constituents in the congressional district they represent. As a first-of-its-kind tool, our goal at the Congressional District Health Dashboard is to equip policymakers, advocates, and journalists with a one-stop resource that offers actionable, trustworthy congressional-district level data.
Earlier in May, the Dashboard sent district-tailored materials out to staff of all 435 representatives in Congress, and of Washington, D.C.’s congressional office, to introduce them to the website and the free data it provides. In that outreach, we featured local data on three metrics: Diabetes, Frequent Mental Distress, and Rent Burden. By providing examples of tailored data, we hope every representative and their teams become familiar with using the Dashboard to improve the health and well-being of their constituents.
See an example of the three featured metrics from one of our district-tailored profiles below. To access the profiles we sent to district offices, scroll down to find your congressional district.
