The Congressional District Health Dashboard’s 2025 Milestones
1. New Metrics. The Dashboard strives to continually add novel, relevant, timely, and actionable public health-related measures to the site. This year we added four new metrics: Youth Not in Work School, Independent Living Difficulty, Food Insecurity, and Designated Primary Care Shortage Area. These four additions span the domains of “Social and Economic Factors” and “Clinical Care” – significantly augmenting the data available on the Dashboard.
2. Updated Geographies. In 2025, five states adopted new congressional district boundaries. Our team updated the maps and recalculated the data on the Dashboard to reflect the 119th Congress.
3. New website features. This year, we made several updates to our site to support users' data journeys.
We updated the printable version of our ‘Health Snapshots’ to succinctly provide an at-a-glance view of your district’s estimates, making it easier to bring to meetings or briefings.
We updated our data download feature, making it easier than ever to choose which metrics and geographies to download, without the need for detailed computer code.
4. Connecting with users. Throughout 2025, our team found exciting new ways to connect with users, policymakers, stakeholders, and others.
Throughout the year, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation hosted virtual briefings highlighting the Congressional District Health Dashboard for congressional staff, including most recently for staff from the Congressional Black Caucus. These educational briefings helped congressional staff learn more about how they can use the Dashboard in their work.
In the spring, our team headed to Washington, D.C. to attend NLC’s Congressional City Conference, connecting with users and engaging with local policy leaders.
We collaborated with the National Rural Health Association to create an interactive national map of our Medicaid Enrollment data as a data translation resource.
We hosted monthly Virtual Office Hours and organized personalized demos for committee members to help acquaint them with the Dashboard’s data and features, to answer questions, and to offer opportunities to collaborate.
5. Making headlines. The Medicaid Enrollment metric made headlines this year on CNN, Politico, Fortune, and in local news outlets across the country.
6. Growth in reach, users, and team. Throughout the year we celebrated national reach, expanded our user base, and strengthened our team. We reached over 50,000 users this year, from all 50 states and Washington, D.C. And our team has grown with three new members – Ameila Bohan, Chelsea Brown, and Annie Robinson.
And with that, 2025 comes to a close. We look forward to all that’s to come in 2026. Users can expect new metrics and new features in the new year. Stay in the know: sign up for our newsletter and connect with us on LinkedIn.
Happy holidays from the Congressional District Health Dashboard.
